October was national bullying prevention month. Students were asked to create a poster or a video with a positive anti-bullying message for the Stone community. See our contest winners below!

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) conducted for the first time a division-wide Family Engagement Survey March 24 – April 12, 2019 to all families with students in grades K-12. The survey asked families to provide their feedback on their engagement at their child’s school in six core areas: welcoming environment, communication, student success, advocacy, family and school partnerships, and collaboration with the community.

Stone Middle School has recently been approved as a Common School, an honor that recognizes our efforts in teaching digital citizenship to young people and engaging the entire school community in this important discussion. The recognition acknowledges our schools commitment to helping students think critically and use technology responsibly to learn, create, and participate.

For more than a decade, he helped the military defend against biological and chemical weapons.  Now he teaches middle school science.

Congratulations to orchestra director Mark Taylor who was named the 2017 Region 5 Outstanding Secondary Teacher. Congratulations as well to ESOL teacher Rebecca McCabe, office assistant Susan Arnold, and Assistant Principal Ellyn Bowman. All four Panthers were recognized at the this year's FCPS Honors Ceremony.
