National School Counseling Week 2022, "Better Together," was celebrated from February 7-11 to focus public attention on thencsw unique contribution of school counselors within our school systems.  National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. 

“School counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, career options and social/emotional skills,” said Jill Cook, ASCA executive director. “School counseling programs help to increase student achievement and provide a much-needed resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators. School counselors are integral to student success.”

Fairfax County Public Schools employs close to 700 school counseling professionals, including school counselors, directors of student services, and career center specialists.  These professionals are committed to preparing students to become lifelong learners and productive members in a global society with a focus on social emotional wellness, academic success, and college and career readiness. 

As Director of Student Services, Tami Brumett leads our outstanding School Counselors at Stone Middle School:
