Applying some creative and critical thinking skills, 8th grade students had the opportunity to test their engineering skills this week in round two of an egg drop capsule design.  The goal was to protect the egg by building a capsule with the least mass possible.  To accomplish this, students had to consider ways to lessen the force of impact and / or slow the fall (due to gravity’s pull) using friction.  While some eggs perished, many survived!  8th graders are amazing!
