Westfield Boys Basketball Summer Camp


Session 1: June 13 - 17               


Session 3: July 18 - 22   

Camp Fee: $170 per session*: Due to rising costs of camp it has become necessary to increase     the camp fee. All campers who sign up the date of camp price is $180

*Multiple Sessions: 2 Sessions - $300 per Session - $40 savings 3 session $450 saving of $60

*Brothers attending same  Session#1  140 per camper  - saving of $10 per child

                           Session#2  155 per camper  - saving of $15 per child

Refund Policy: In order to provide the best possible instruction and supervision, and a low camper to counselor ratio, we staff our camp based on the number of campers registered. There will be NO refunds   after June 10, 2004, and all refunds will be charged a $25 processing fee up until that date.           

Camp Times: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily. Doors open 30 minutes before camp begins each day, and close 15 minutes after camp ends. Please arrange transportation accordingly.

2022 FCPS Summer Learning Information

Many students participate in summer learning opportunities to advance academically, to sharpen their skills, to learn something new, or to participate in fun fine arts and Career and Technical Education camps, institutes and academies. Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) summer learning opportunities include a Credit Recovery Academy that offers credit recovery courses, intervention classes, and test remediation classes; programs and institutes at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology that provide credit accrual and enrichment opportunities; and Online Campus courses and classes. Career and Technical Education will offer Self-Directed Economics and Personal Finance. 

Elementary and secondary Fine Arts and Career and Technical Education enrichment camps, institutes and academies will also be offered. Information about additional programs will be posted as it becomes available on the FCPS Summer Learning webpage.  

Institute for the Arts (IFTA): Current grades 6-11


  • 2-week session: Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, July 15
  • 4-week session: Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, July 29
  • *IFTA HPE 9: Tuesday, July 5-Tuesday, July 26 *IFTA HPE 9 classes from June 27-July 1 are held virtually via Zoom

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday–Friday

IFTA is a comprehensive arts enrichment and academic program. Students take 4 classes which they choose from among 90 selections. Options include dance, music, theatre, visual art, and fashion classes. Students entering grade 9 may take the Online Health & PE (HPE9) course and students entering grades 9-12 may take the Self-Directed Economics and Personal Finance course as one of their 4 classes.

Tech Adventure Camp

A summer enrichment and exploratory program in career and technical education for students in grades 2-6.

Online Campus: Current grades 7-12


  • Non-SOL courses: Tuesday, June 21-Wednesday, July 20
  • SOL courses: Tuesday, June 21-Wednesday, July 21
  • IFTA HPE 9: Tuesday, July 5-Tuesday, July 26
  • HN Geometry: Tuesday, June 21 – Thursday July 29
  • Algebra 2 Head Start: Monday, July 18-Friday, July 22

Time: Synchronous lessons will be between 8 am – 2 pm and will last 60-90 minutes daily.

These courses provide opportunities for credit recovery and acceleration for eligible middle school and high school students.

CTE Summer Academy: Current grades 7-11


  • Session 1: Monday, July 11 – Friday, July 15
  • Session 2: Monday, July 18 – Friday, July 22
  • Session 3: Monday, July 25 – Friday, July 29

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., daily (Early drop off begins at 7:30 a.m.)

CTE Summer Academy is a weekly enrichment program that allows students to dive deeper into CTE program areas, and encourages skill development and career exploration. Students choose 4 classes to personalize their summer learning experience. Students may register for more than one session and learn all summer long.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

  • Classes available grades K-12.
  • ESOL Language and Literacy Connections (online): This free online class provides FCPS middle and high school English Learners (grades 7-12) the opportunity to engage in thematic lessons in an online environment with an ESOL teacher. In this class, students continue developing their academic and reading and writing skills in online discussions with an ESOL teacher. This class is pass/fail only and fulfills the online requirement toward graduation.

Extended School Year (ESY) Services

Special education and related services are provided beyond the normal school year.  Extended School Year (ESY) services are provided to students, grades PreK thru 12, whose Individualized Education Program (IEP) team decided that the benefits the student gained during the regular school year will be significantly jeopardized if the student does not receive ESY services.  All ESY services and transportation are provided free of charge as a part of the student's access to a free, appropriate public education (FAPE), in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Improvement Act (IDEIA) of 2004.

Summer Learning Online Campus

Middle and high school students (grades 7-12) who meet the course prerequisites can take one online course. Students who have completed a high school math course may take an online

Spring & Summer Programs at Virginia Tech (April - July)

Spring & Summer Programs at Virginia Tech – most CEED programs this year will be in person, but there are a couple programs in Spring that are being offered online.  Most programs are free, unless otherwise indicated.  Spring programs are available for all ages.  Summer programs are offered to Middle & High School students.  Classes start as early as Applications for CEED programs are OPEN, and can be found on the program websites. The university has not made a decision regarding COVID vaccination requirements at this time.   A list with all Virginia Tech STEM/Diversity pre-college summer programs can be found here.
