Ms. Norris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position having served as a dedicated educator for over 16 years in Fairfax County Public Schools. Prior to being named the acting principal at Stone Middle School, Ms. Norris served as an assistant principal at Westfield High School since June of 2014. Previously, Ms. Norris served as the Special Education Department Chair at Chantilly High School. Ms. Norris has also served as the principal for Fairfax County Public Schools Summer Learning Programs in three different schools over the span of four years. In each of these roles, Ms. Norris’s leadership has had a tremendous impact on student success and engagement.
Ms. Norris is a leader who puts great focus on developing/strengthening relationships and promoting a sense of belonging, teamwork, and pride amongst students, families, teachers, and the community. She is eager to deepen the relationships she has already begun to develop with all stakeholders in her new role. In fact, Ms. Norris attended Stone MS as a student having grown up in the same community she now serves!
Ms. Norris holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Education in Special Education, and a Master of Education in Education Leadership from George Mason University. She holds a Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in Administration and Supervision K-12, Specific Learning Disabilities K-12, and Emotional Disturbance K-12.
